Laauli Leuatea Polataivao Fosi is the Minister of Agriculture. He represents the Constituency of Gagaifomauga No. 3 and this is his fourth Parliamentary term. He is also the co-founder of the Fa’atuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (F.A.S.T.) Political Party.
Laauli was educated at Marist Brothers, Mulivai, St. Joseph’s College, Alafua and then on to the National University of Samoa. He also attended the University of Tasmania in Australia where he attained a Degree in Parliamentary Laws & Procedures.
La’auli had an extensive career with the Finance Division for Polynesian Airlines and the ANNSETT Australia from 1985 – 2006. Laauli’s also a Business Proprietor and Red Cross member. He was the Chairman of the Yazaki Samoa Catering Services and Chairman of the Samoa United Caterers that was responsible for the catering of the South Pacific Games in 2007. He served as the Deputy Speaker of the House from 2006 – 2011 and then later on became Speaker of the House from 2011 – 2016. Laauli was also the Minister of Agriculture from 2016 – 2018.
Laauli is married to Heather Schmidt and they have eleven children. They are members of the Catholic Church, the Congregational Christian Church (CCCS) and the Worship Centre Christian Church.
