Commonwealth ICT Ministers meetings in London

Cabinet has approved the participation by representatives from Samoa at two meetings in London on 3 – 6 March 2014.

The Commonwealth Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Ministers Forum will be held on 3 – 4 March to be followed by the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation Cybersecurity Forum 2014 on 5 – 6 March.

The meeting’s agenda include briefing updates on key areas of importance in the field of Information Communication Technology, and will provide an opportunity to discuss and reach consensus on Commonwealth-wide positions on ICT matters that have both national and global implications.

This is also an opportunity for Samoa to seek for assistance channels for the development of communication means in the country. The meeting will combine participants in sharing information, building capacity and facilitating partnerships in tackling challenges that might arise with information technology.

The Minister of Communications & Information Technology, Afioga Tuisugaletaua Sofara Aveau and the Chief Executive for the Ministry, Tuaimalo Asamu Ah Sam are representing Samoa at the meetings.
