Land allocated for solar system projects
Cabinet has approved the allocation of lands in three different locations to the Electric Power Corporation for the construction and operation of the grid connected solar system projects.
The locations for the projects:
• 29 acres in the middle field of the Tuanaimato racecourse;
• Six acres at the Airport Authority grounds at Faleolo;
• 3.75 acres behind Samoa College at Vaivase.
This project will further improve electricity energy in the country. The solar systems project will generate energy from the sun and could minimize our dependency on imported diesel for energy generation.
