New Managing Director for SWA
Cabinet has approved the selection of Seugamaalii Jammie Semiperive Saena as Managing Director for the Samoa Water Authority for the next three years.
The vacancy was advertised for public interest and eight candidates submitted applications. All candidates were invited for interviews.
After interviews and reviews by the panel, a recommendation was tabled before Cabinet for the final decision.
Seugamaalii has been employed by the Samoa Water Authority for over ten years and at the time of her selection as the new Managing Director, she was the Manager for the Waste Water Management Division. A position she held since 2004.
The new head of SWA holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia and a New Zealand Certificate of Engineering from the Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland.
Seugamaalii was the recipient of the Samoa Public Service Excellence for Individual Award 2012 for “Environmental Friendly/Sustainable Development Initiative”.
She is a Chartered Professional Engineer, a member of the Institute of Professional Engineers of Samoa and affiliated with the Australian Water Association Limited.
Seugamaalii has received trainings and participated in many workshops and meetings in Samoa and overseas, in relation to her line of work.
She hails from the villages of Mulivai Safata, Tuanai, Malie, Toomatagi and Vailele Uta.
The late Tainau Moefaauo Taputoa Titimaea was the previous Managing Director.
