The Government of Samoa handed over the SIDS Venue to the United Nations at 10am on Saturday 30th August 2014.
In a short ceremony, presided over by Samoa’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Aliioaiga Feturi Elisaia, the SIDS Conference Secretary-General, Mr Wu Hongbo officially received the SIDS Venue from the Prime Minister of Samoa, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi.

There were short remarks from the Prime Minister and His Excellency Mr Wu Hongbo, before the flags of Samoa and the United Nations were raised to close the ceremony.
