1. Dry-docking of MV Lady Samoa III for special survey in American Samoa
Cabinet approved the visit by a delegation from Samoa to assess the dry-docking of the MV Lady Samoa III vessel for a special survey in American Samoa on 9 – 14 February 2105.
The MV Lady Samoa III has been serving the Mulifanua and Salelologa route for five years.
The vessel is required to undergo a Special Survey every five years according to international policies overseen by Lloyds Register of Shipping, London.
The survey is being conducted at the AS Shipyard Services Authority in American Samoa.
The Minister of Works Transport and Infrastructure, Afioga Manualesagalala Enokati Posala and Samoa Shipping Corporation Managing Director, Susuga Papalii Willie Nansen attended to the assessment for Samoa.

2. Legal Adviser for Samoa Connectivity Project
Cabinet has approved the contract to Joanne Thelmo as Legal Adviser for the Samoa Connectivity Project. Ms Thelmo is originally from the United States of America.
This project is a high capacity submarine cable system that connects Samoa to the global internet system.
The tender was advertised for public interest, and seven candidates submitted applications of bids. Three applicants were called for interviews.
The Sub Committee conducted interviews and assessments according to the tender bidding document before a recommendation was submitted to Cabinet for approval.
Ms Thelmo was noted by the panel as a competent candidate. She worked as in-house counsel for France Telecom and has adequate experience for this particular project. Ms Thelmo will be based in Samoa during her contract.

3. Detailed Design and Construction Supervision for West Coast Road
Cabinet has approved the contract awarded to Roughton International Ltd for the Detailed Design and Construction Supervision for part of Upolu’s West Coast Road, from Saina to Faleolo.
The tender was advertised for public interest, and four companies submitted applications of bids.
An assessment was conducted by the Sub Committee according to the tender bidding document before a recommendation was submitted to Cabinet for approval.
