SOE TO DECIDE THE FATE OF THE MALI’OLI’O BRIDGE OPENING

Whether the multi-million tala Maliolio Bridge in Samalaeulu in Savaii will receive a grand opening as the normal practise for commissioning major government projects will be decided by Cabinet.
The Land and Transport Authority is also entertaining opening the bridge to the public until the COVID 19 threat is resolved
The other option is to proceed with the official opening and live stream the ceremony on our Social Media.
However the final decision, clarified Authority’s Chief Executive Galumalemana Ta’atialeoitiiti Tutuvanu-Schwalger will be made by Cabinet.
She added that the majority of the works have been completed with the new bridge, as well as the road on top of the bridge and the access road.
The new $7.64 million bridge and road is funded by the World Bank and the Government of Australia.
The project is constructed by Ah Liki Construction Company assisted by Apia Lua Construction Company and FICO Construction.
