Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has saluted the brave response by the Faleatiu Village Council to assist police apprehend three wanted and violent criminals causing havoc in the village.
The wanted men included Fotu Sanele Moa, Iolamo Sanele and Sosene Asomaliu aka Sene Asomaliu were arrested in by police after a series of raids at Faleatiu in a span of three days last week.
In a special program Live Streamed on Facebook and posted on the Savali News You Tube Channel from his home last Saturday evening, the Prime Minister applauded the gallant initiative by the Faleatiu village council to ensure that law and order prevails in the village and to maintain peace.
“I am fully aware of the dangerous situation in Faleatiu and it all points to one family which have a history of crime related to possession of illegal weapons as well as cultivation and distribution of cannabis and other illegal drugs,” said Tuilaepa.
“This particular family has no respect for law and order and have defied the village council.”
He named the family of the infamous Tagaloasa Filipaina, currently serving time for murder and drugs related offense.
Tuilaepa said he has no doubt that even from behind bars, Tagaloasa remains the kingpin of his family illegal drug and firearm syndicate.
“My advice to Tagaloasa’s family and relatives to provide counselling for him to become a reborn man.
“Tell him (Tagaloasa) to be remorseful and stop breaking the law, because he was given the chance and got released on parole but he didn’t use the opportunity given to him by Government wisely,” continued the Prime Minister.
“Always remember, the curse is on your family, which means the curse will pass on to your children and their children, but if you (Tagaloasa) change for the better and ask for God’s forgiveness by turning a new page in life, your family will regain the respect of the village and everyone.”
And with the same note, he reissued a stern public warning that the long arm of the law brings serious consequences.
Escaped prisoner Pati Chong Nee who has been on the run for over a year did not escape the Prime Minister’s public reminder.
“Turn yourself in peacefully.
“As a father and grandfather, I urge you Pati Chong Nee, surrender peacefully because no matter where you hide, the Police will find you.”
