The Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration and Registrar of the Courts, Mrs. Moliei Simi Vaai respectfully provides the official election court report for Safata Nu.2 Constituency on behalf of the Honourable Chief Justice. This is an amendment to our Press Statement issued Friday, 3 September 2021 titled The Outcomes of General Election 2021:
SAFATA NU. 2 CONSTITUENCY / ITUMALO FAIGA PALOTA SAFATA NU. 2.
“In relation to the Safata Nu 2 Constituency, both the petitioner and the respondent reached an agreement or a settlement, for each party to withdraw their respective claims; the respondent would tender his resignation and vacate the seat; and that both would contest a by election. Whether such an agreement or settlement might be considered a corrupt arrangement is a matter for the Speaker.
