57 Officers who are to be promoted today
Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen.
I am pleased to join you this morning as we gathered to officiate the promotion of 57 men and women to various ranks. I am indeed honoured to celebrate this occasion with you. Today is a significant day to the promotees as today marks a new development in their career as police and prison officers.
We are all aware that this is not an easy profession, as you have to put yourself out there in order to protect and keep the peace while you uphold the law at the same time as well as being put in harm’s way while maintaining order in the prisons’ facilities.
I applaud all of you for taking steps in furthering your career in this profession. It’s not an easy path, but I encourage all of you to stay the course and do your best in serving the people of Samoa as well as our visitors.
For those that were not fortunate enough to have this opportunity, your time will come, believe in yourself and wonders will take its turn. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the families for your continuous support.
In unity we stand firm and serve with pride and honour.
I congratulate all of you for achieving another milestone, thank you for your collective approach to policing and protecting the Samoan community.
Congratulations once again.
Faafetai,
SOIFUA MA IA MANUIA!!!
