Samoa to host inaugural WADA Oceania Ministerial Meeting on Anti-Doping in Sport
The Samoa Government Ministry of Sport & Recreation (MSR) is proud to announce that it will host the inaugural World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Oceania Ministerial Meeting on Anti-Doping in Sport (OMMADS) on 29th October 2024, at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel in Apia.
This significant event will bring together Ministers and senior officials from 19 Oceania countries to discuss and address key issues related to anti-doping in sport. The meeting will be co-facilitated by the Honourable Minister Laumatimanu Ringo Purcell of the MSR and Mr. Witold Bańka, President of WADA. The Director General of WADA, Mr. Olivier Niggli, will also be in attendance.
The OMMADS aims to strengthen regional collaboration in the fight against doping, promote clean sport, and protect the health and well-being of athletes. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences, best practices, and discuss challenges faced in their respective countries.
The meeting will also serve as a platform for countries to commit to implementing effective anti-doping programs and policies.
