(PRESS RELEASE Apia, Samoa – 28 February 2025) – The Samoa Information Technology Association (SITA) successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday, 28th February 2025, at Vodafone Samoa Headquarters, Maluafou. The meeting brought together ICT professionals, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to review the past year’s achievements and set a bold vision for 2025.
Members reviewed SITA’s 2024 annual report, financial statements, and key initiatives before electing a new Executive Committee to lead the organization forward.
The newly elected committee is as follows:
● President: Leiataualesa Jobenz Manoa
● Vice President: Mailo Henry Mailo
● Secretary: Vui Athena Matalavea
● Treasurer: Li’o Mark Bartley
● Executive Members: Leota Sarai Faleupolu Tevita, Ainsof So’o, Eugene Barker, Maiava Filimoni Pelenato, Viresa Setima
Outgoing SITA President Leota Sarai Faleupolu Tevita reflected on the progress made during the past years and expressed gratitude for the support of members and partners.
“It has been an honor to serve as SITA’s President. Over the past years, we have expanded our reach, strengthened partnerships, and advanced key ICT initiatives in Samoa. I am confident that the new executive team will build upon this momentum and take SITA to greater heights,” said Leota
Newly elected SITA President Leiataualesa Jobenz Manoa emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in shaping the future of Samoa’s digital landscape.
“SITA remains committed to empowering ICT professionals, strengthening cybersecurity resilience, and fostering digital transformation. In 2025, we will work even more closely with the Government of Samoa and international partners to enhance Samoa’s digital ecosystem. With a busy year ahead, we have planned a range of events focused on capacity-building, policy discussions, and industry networking to support ICT growth in Samoa,” said Leiataualesa.
Following the formal proceedings, attendees engaged in a networking session, providing a valuable opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and explore new collaborations. The event concluded with group photos, capturing the spirit of unity and shared commitment to advancing Samoa’s ICT industry.
