(GOVERNMENT PRESS SECRETARIAT); The Government of Samoa through the Ministry of Health has issued information brochures on the COVID-19 vaccination roll out for Samoa

The brochures which come in both languages (Samoan and English), provide essential information on the COVID-19 vaccine, reassuring its safety and efficacy.  Furthermore, the brochures contain relevant information on who should be vaccinated, important health requirements, and the vaccination exclusion criteria.

The AstraZeneca vaccine has been confirmed for Samoa, and will come in two doses.  These doses must be complete and will be administered 8-12 weeks apart.

The brochures highlight possible side effects of the vaccine such as fever, headache, swelling at the injection site, tiredness, and chills.

The public is hereby advised to contact the COVID-19 Hotline: 8006440 for further information and inquiries.

As part our national efforts for the successful roll out of the COVID-19 vaccination plan for Samoa, the Disaster Advisory Committee (DAC) implores the country’s support and assistance.

For other non-health related inquiries, please contact the National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) on 997.
