Prime Minister and Chairman of the Samoa Rugby Union, Susuga Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi bid the Manusina 7’s team farewell yesterday, as they prepare for the Asia Pacific Sevens Tournament in Malaysia.
In his address, Susuga Tuilaepa challenged the team to play with their hearts and bring back a win for the country.
“We often hear the same words in speeches to sports teams, encouraging you to do whatever it takes for victory. Those words are usually spoken without conviction. What I want you to remember as important is that you play with pride and heart, and make your country proud,” said Tuilaepa.
A brief ceremony was held at the SRU headquarters at Tuanaimato, before the team leaves tomorrow to compete in Malaysia in the weekend.
