Palalaua College opened its new school facilities on Monday this week.
The facilities include two building blocks, a toilet block, covered walkway and ramp connecting the new school buildings to the old buildings and two water tanks. The Australian Government funded the project, worth ST$825,683.40 under Samoa’s Cyclone Recovery Project.
Prime Minister Tuilaepa gave the keynote address, and thanked development assistance from Australia, “which made possible this project for the education of our children.”
Tuilaepa added that the Government of Samoa through the Ministry of Education, is continuing with programmes to further develop the sector, and emphasised the importance of proper infrastructure and facilities to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for all children of Samoa.
The construction was undertaken by Maota Construction & Joinery Ltd.
