The following statement from the Prime Minister of Samoa, Susuga Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, is in response to recent media coverage of an insensitive and unethical nature, that portrayed a recently deceased individual in a graphic and gruesome manner.
“The Government and people of Samoa welcome PIDC to our shores and as evident by the swift execution of the necessary documents to facilitate a smooth transition from Suva to Apia, we likewise will continue to render support and assistance necessary for the fostering of our mutual relationship.” – PM Tuilaepa
“The decisions you make measure your integrity,” said Tuilaepa, adding “and integrity takes courage. It’s commitment to doing what is right, no matter how difficult and challenging.
Our principles of good governance depend on our integrity and being transparent and accountable is an important part of our public service.”
