Leota Laki Lamositele is the Minister for Commerce, Industry & Labour. He represents the Constituency of Palauli No. 2 and this is his first Parliamentary term.
Leota holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific, Fiji and a Master in Project Management from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. He also holds a New Zealand Certificate in Statistics and is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Samoa Institute of Accountants.
Leota has over 40 years of work experience both in Government, private sector and the community. He has worked with urban and rural communities in the area of small and medium business development, agriculture, and health services. He has extensive regional development experience in project management, finance and business development having worked with international organizations such as the Asian Development Bank, World Bank and other donor partners such as NZAID while Director of the Small Business Enterprise Centre in Samoa, and DFAT Australia and European Union on village based projects. He also has extensive experience in community work especially consultations and negotiations with a broad cultural knowledge not only in Samoa but the pacific region.
Leota is married to Galumalemana Margaret Sapolu and they have 6 children. They are members of the Catholic Church.
